What is the purpose of life? Why are we here?
We are all searching for meaning and purpose in life. Not only is God real, but our purpose in life is to know Him and have a relationship with Him! Many people are on a quest for truth and fulfillment but unfortunately many look for the answers in all the wrong places.
We are all actually searching to find God. In this journey, there is an issue we all run into called sin. Sin is anything that Jesus wouldn’t do and it separates us from a good God that wants a relationship with us. Humans lie, cheat, steal, lust, and rebel against God. If you were carrying a backpack full of your sin, how heavy would that backpack be? We all want to go to heaven, but we actually deserve hell because of our sin.
The Good News is that God has a solution! Even though we deserved to be punished because we rebelled against God, He sent his Son, Jesus, as a man to take our punishment on the cross. Jesus was beaten, whipped, and crucified on the cross for our sins! He defeated death and rose from the dead! He did this BECAUSE OF LOVE! God wants a relationship with each of us.
The Bible says if we repent (turn from our sin) and put our faith and trust in Jesus that we will be saved and He makes us ready for Heaven!
Imagine the worst thing you have ever done was written on a huge white board for everyone to see. Maybe it’s pornography or a secret addiction that no one knows about. When you repent of your sins and give your life to Christ, He takes a giant eraser and he forgives every sin and makes you completely clean before God! This is GOOD NEWS!
If you want to turn from your sin and give your life to Jesus, pray this prayer from your heart out loud:
“Jesus I need you. I’ve been looking for you in all the wrong places. Today I repent of my sin and I put my faith and trust in you. Today I receive your free gift of salvation. I confess with my mouth that you are Lord and I believe in my heart that you were raised from the dead. Save me now and set me free. In Jesus name, AMEN!”
